Come and visit Craven County Recreation and Parks Department's largest park, located on 111 acres adjacent to the Craven Regional Airport.
Creekside Park offers a variety of recreational opportunities for people of all ages. Included are 12 athletic fields that can be used for soccer, baseball, softball and football; a large playground designed for children ages 5-12 years of age; swings; sand volleyball court; restrooms; picnic shelters and a walking trail. The waterfront area provides canoe & kayak access, playground, gazebo, picnic shelter & walkways to Brice's Creek. All of these facilities are available for public use and can be reserved by calling the Craven County Recreation & Parks office at (252) 636-6606 Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Rental fees may apply for exclusive use of the picnic shelters, gazebo and athletic fields.
Future plans include development of tennis courts, additional picnic and playground areas, as well as a gymnasium and offices. Give us a call to see how you can help Creekside grow!

Gazebo
The gazebo is near the waterfront area at Creekside Park. It can seat approximately 8-10 people. Please call (252) 636-6606 to make reservations. Completed rental form and payment are needed to finalize reservation.

Congleton Picnic Shelter
The Congleton Picnic Shelter is the newest shelter at Creekside Park that seats 50. The shelter has direct access to the waterfront area, playground area and a grill. There is a $20 or $40 rental fee and a $50 refundable deposit required for exclusive use of the shelter. Please call (252) 636-6606 to make reservations. Completed rental form and payment are needed to finalize reservation.

Rotary Picnic Shelter
The Rotary Picnic Shelter is a large shelter at Creekside Park that seats 100. The shelter has direct access to the playground area, sand volleyball court, restrooms and fields. There is a $25 or $50 rental fee and a $50 refundable deposit required for exclusive use of the shelter. Please call (252) 636-6606 to make reservations. Completed rental form and payment are needed to finalize reservation.

Walking Trail Picnic Shelter
 The Walking Trail Shelter is a small shelter at Creekside Park that seats 20-25. The shelter has direct access to the walking trail a grill as well as a playground. There is a $10 or $20 rental fee and $50 refundable deposit required for exclusive use of the shelter. Please call (252) 636-6606 to make reservations. Completed rental form and payment are needed to finalize reservation.

Canoes/Kayaks
 The Craven County Recreation and Parks Department has one and two person kayaks and canoes that are available to rent at a fee of $15 each. There is also a refundable deposit of $50 per canoe/kayak required. Life jackets and paddles are also available upon request. Please call (252) 636-6606 to make reservations. Completed rental form and payment must be received before canoes/kayaks can be picked up.

Ball fields
The ball fields at Creekside are available to the general public. There is no fee for regular recreational league & recreational tournament play. A fee of $50.00 is required, per field per day, for any individual or organization that requires field preparation or is charging an entry/gate fee. A fee of $20.00 per field, per hour will be charged for use of lights. There is a $100 deposit required per event, to be refunded if area is left clean. The field must be scheduled in advance and a rental form must be returned to Recreational Department.

Creekside Park Location
From 70 East...
Once you have entered James City, turn right at the second stop light onto Airport Road (before Riverside Chrysler Dodge). Go .4 mile and turn left onto Old Airport Road. The park will be .6 mile on the right.
From 70 West...
Turn left onto Grantham Road (before Marine Federal Credit Union). At the end of Grantham Road, turn right onto Old Airport Road. The park will be .2 mile on the left.
