Mission Statement

To provide services to enhance the quality of life for older adults in Craven County, allowing them to remain active and independent and in their own homes.

General Services

Meals on Wheels

Home delivered meals are distributed each weekday to approximately 100 older adults.  To be eligible, an individual must be at least 60 years of age and basically unable to prepare a nutritious meal for his or her self.  For more details and/or to apply, contact the Meals on Wheels Office at (252) 638-1790.

There is an on-going need for volunteers to deliver meals.  Anyone who has access to a vehicle and can spare as little as a couple of hours at least one morning per month should contact Marilyn Bond at (252) 638-1790. 

Congregate Nutrition Sites

Three locations:	New Bern, Harlowe, Vanceboro
	Meals, activities, educational programs
	Open to all citizens at least 60 years of age

Health Promotion programs

Educational seminars, exercise classes, yoga, arts and crafts, special programs for the visually impaired and hard of hearing are available free of charge to individuals at least 60 years of age.. 

Volunteer Program

Opportunities are available to help older adults and other members of the community stay active.  Volunteers deliver meals to the homebound, help serve food at congregate meal sites, lead recreational programs, and help with special events.

Locations and Hours of Operation

All locations are open Monday through Friday except for county holidays.
