The purpose of a public health education program is to enhance the community's ability to solve health problems through informed decision making skills regarding disease and injury prevention, healthful living promotion, and appropriate utilization of preventive and detection services.
Services include:
Clinic Education - scheduled classes for clients, one-on-one counseling, educational literature and exhibits, staff education, and resource for health department staff and clients.
School Education - teacher/school personnel training, classroom presentations, PTO programs, School Health Advisory Council, and health information resource for teachers and students.
Community Education - health education programs for civic clubs, organizations, churches, businesses, youth groups, and other agencies. Media contacts and public relations. Health fairs, special projects, support groups, and health information resource.
