Dental Services Section of the Craven County Health Department benefits the community with a strong partnership between local and state dental professionals.

Services provided by local public health dentist and staff include:

Mobile dental clinic offers comprehensive dental care to school aged children on site at elementary schools in Craven, Jones and Pamlico counties.

Services provided by the state public health dental hygienist include: Screening, assessment and referral for elementary school children throughout Craven and Pamlico counties.

Education is provided to individuals and groups in prevention of dental diseases. These can be school-based, community-based and professionally based. The Smile Mobile, a 52-foot trailer, provides clinical services to targeted elementary schools in Craven, Jones and Pamlico counties.
