Commissioner Allen joined the Board of Commissioners in December, 1994, after having served on the City of Havelock Board of Commissioners for eleven years. He retired from the U.S. Navy as Master Chief Petty Officer in 1976. During most of his years with the Navy, his duties involved health services, which inspired a lifelong interest and commitment to health issues. He is now semi-retired from Lee K. Allen Electrical Service, which he has owned and operated since 1979.
A native of West Virginia, Commissioner Allen has called Craven County home for more than forty years.
